Hi, I'm Shane Burke!
I’m an artist. My mom says I’ve been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. My grandfather had a huge influence on me, and I loved watching him paint as a kid. As a shy boy, I would sit for hours drawing while my siblings ran around the house causing chaos. Drawing was my calm, peaceful place, and sometimes the process felt even more rewarding than the finished piece.
I wasn’t born with a magical talent — I just loved it more than most kids my age. It took a lot of practice, but the more I drew, the better I got. By the time school started, I was ahead of most of the other kids, and the encouragement from my parents and teachers made a big difference. Unlike kickball, I was usually picked first for projects that involved drawing — and it felt great to be good at something.
Over the years, my artwork has been featured on TV, in magazines, children’s books, and even some mobile apps. But what’s been most rewarding is helping beginner artists develop their skills. In December 2020, I started my TikTok channel on a whim at my daughter’s suggestion, and it took off almost overnight. That’s when I realized teaching art and sharing the creative process is exactly what I wanted to do.
